RRB ALP 2025 Exam Pattern

CBT 1

I. Mode: Online
II. Duration: 60 minutes
III. Total Questions: 75 (1 mark each)
IV. Negative Marking: ⅓ mark deducted for each incorrect answer

Qualifying Marks:

UR & EWS: 40%
OBC (NCL): 30%
SC: 30%
ST: 25%

Subjects:

Mathematics – 20 questions
General Intelligence & Reasoning – 25 questions
General Science – 20 questions
General Awareness & Current Affairs – 10 questions

CBT 2

Divided into two parts:

Part A

I. Duration: 90 minutes
II. Total Questions: 100

Qualifying Marks:

UR & EWS: 40%
OBC (NCL): 30%

Part B

Subject: Relevant Trade (based on ITI/Diploma discipline)
Qualifying Marks: 35% for all categories

CBAT (Computer-Based Aptitude Test)

Applicable To: Candidates who qualify CBT 2 for ALP posts
Nature: Qualifying
Weightage: Marks from CBAT (70%) and CBT 2 Part A (30%) considered for final merit list

III. Basic Science & Engineering: Engineering Drawing, Units and Measurements, Mass-Weight-Density, Work-Power-Energy, Speed and Velocity, Heat and Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Environment Education, IT Literacy.
IV. General Awareness & Current Affairs: Same as CBT 1 but with a broader scope.

Part B

I. Trade Syllabus: Based on the trade selected by the candidate, covering subjects like Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automobile Engineering, etc., as per the curriculum prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).
