Syllabus and Exam pattern of Navy Metric Recruit Exam

MR Selection Process:

• I.    Written exam
• II.    Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
• III.    Medical Standard

Exam Pattern:-

The exam pattern will be as follows-

Computer Based Test

• I.    The question paper will have two sections i.e. Science & Mathematics and General Knowledge
• II.    The standard of question paper will be of class 10th and syllabus and sample paper for the exam is available on the website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in
• III.    The duration of the exam will be of 30 minutes.
• IV.    The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and computer based objective type (multiple choice).
• V.    The question paper will be of total 50 questions, each of which will be of 01 mark.
• VI.    Candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate. Navy reserves the right to fix passing marks in each section and in aggregate.
• VII.    Penalty for wrong answer. Candidates should note that there will be penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by the candidate in the question paper. There are four options for answering each question.
• VIII.    For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.

Navy MR Exam Syllabus-

The exam syllabus will be as follows:

Science and Mathematics:

• Nature of matter, universe (planet/earth/satellite/sun), electricity and its applications.
• Force and gravity, Newton's laws of motion, work, energy and power.
• Heat, temperature, metals and non-metals, carbon and its compounds, measurement in science, sound and wave motion, atomic structure.
• Mathematical Simplification, Ratios and Proportions, Algebraic Identities, Linear Equations and Polynomials, Simultaneous Equations, Basic Trigonometry.
• Simple Mensuration Geometry, Measures of Central Tendency (Mean, Median and Mode).
• Interest, profit, loss and percentage, work, time, speed and distance.
  

GK:

• History, Defense, War and Neighbors, Awards and Authors, Discoveries, Disease and Nutrition.
• Current Affairs, Languages, Capitals and Currencies, Common Names, Full Forms and Abbreviations.
• Eminent Personality, National: Bird/Animal/Sport/Flower/Anthem/Song/Flag/Monument.
• Geography: soil, rivers, mountains, harbor, inland, harbor.
• Culture and Religion, Freedom Movement, Important National Facts about India, Heritage, Art and Dance.
• Sports: Championship/Winners/Conditions/Number of Players.
