There are 3 different phases, which candidate is required to clear in order to get selected for various posts in Central Government Offices.
Phases- I
SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam is Objective Multiple Choice Question Online paper
Phases- II
Tier 2 exam is Descriptive Paper in English and Hindi
Phase- III
Tier 3 is the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT).

SSC CHSL Tier- II Exam Pattern 2021
SSC CHSL Tier-II is a descriptive type test. In order to assess the writing skills of candidate in English and Hindi. Candidates have to pass Tier-II. This written test comprises of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter and Application writing of about 150-200 words. Minimum marks that a candidate needs to score in SSC CHSL Tier- II are 33%.
- I. Questions are based on the concepts of 10th level.
- II. Time of the exam is of 1 hrs and total marks are 100 marks.
- III. Duration is 80 minutes for candidate who is visually handicapped.
SSC CHSL Tier- III Exam Pattern
Typing Test for CHSL/JSA and Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant-
It is skill based test on computer and the medium of the Typing Test is Hindi and English. Candidates will have to opt for the medium of Typing Test (Either Hindi or English) while filling up the online Application Form. Typing test is qualifying in nature.
Candidates will asked to type with a speed of 30 wpm in English and 30 wpm in Hindi in 10 minutes
